About Kaitlin…

Kaitlin was never one you would expect to die by suicide. Her life was one to be envied. She was gifted academically. Her artistic talent was beyond her 15 years. She loved birds and angels. She had a smile that could melt your heart and was loved by all.

But, behind that smile and success Kaitlin carried the dark pain of depression. Even with treatment and the love and support of her family, Kaitlin's struggle with mental illness came to an end on March 25, 2004 when she took her own life.

Kaitlin was often called "angel". In a conversation shortly before her death she said she wished that others understood depression and the unique challenges that it brought along with being a teen-ager. She wished she could have been accepted.

Kaitlin left this world with a family shattered and friends heart-broken. It is their mission to carry on the message that there is hope, help and healing for depression.
